NEWS
Collage, sensuality, glamour and a bold rejection of norms and expectations are an approach that Mickalene Thomas shares with Linder. The US artist uses a similar set of tools to hammer a similar set of conceptual nails: but instead of humorous punk rebellion, Thomas’s work is joyful, defiant and celebratory. - The Big (double) Review: Linder and Mickalene Thomas at the Hayward Gallery ★★★½ - via The Art Newspaper
Designer Jean Pierre Consuegra is redefining the visual language of event posters by blending digital collage, neon tones, and Y2K references. His approach is instinctive, free from stylistic constraints, and rooted in experimentation with found images and mixed techniques. - Jean Pierre Consuegra and the Allure of Surveillance Aesthetics - via Collater.al
Shullenberger's works are collages in that they are composed of many bits of fabric, sewn together. That may not sound unusual, but these are eensy-weensy bits — the scraps that fall off the scissors when something else is being cut out. - Dianne Shullenberger’s Fabric Collages Get Scrappy - via Seven Days
I started creating collages in 2020 while furloughed during Covid-19. … it gave me the chance to tap into my creativity. At first, I made collages for friends and co-workers, unsure of my next step. - Local collage artist finds new success, ditching 9-to-5 - via Charleston City Paper
From Robert Rauschenberg to Hannah Höch and Max Ernst, I have always been drawn to collage and assemblage. These techniques, where separate elements are edited and fused into something new, have long fascinated me – unsurprisingly, much like my obsession with gathering ingredients to make an improvised dish. - A Collage of Sorts: PLUCK Miami x Taste:Work:Shop - via design milk
Launched in 2024, the $3,500 headset faces some early adoption challenges, including few apps, occasional crashes, and the lack of basic features in some apps like being able to save your work. But some app developers are already making the most of its capabilities. During my testing, I was able to collage and paint in 2D and 3D, edit video, and turn standard photos into immersive 3D images. Crayon allowed me to draw in three dimensions, Spacial Cut allowed me to edit three-dimensional video, and Beautiful Things showed early promise as a tool for the fashion and film industries. - Could Apple Vision Pro Be the Artist’s Tool of the Future? These Developers Think So - via artnet

“Ancient Reign,” which closed at Zwirner at the end of January, offered a rare, intimate look at Noah Davis’ formative collages and works on paper, accompanied by two suites of his paintings. “It was important to me to share this side of Noah. He is known for his paintings, but they just scratch the surface,” Karon Davis said. “He was a maker… a maker of objects and worlds. These works have never been seen before, so I hope this gives people insight into the multidisciplinary artist and visionary he was.” - Karon Davis On Noah Davis’ Legacy and How Their Relationship Continues Through Art - via Observer

Our 2025 Workbook is out and available for sale on our website. Our weekly creative challenge remains free and open to everyone and everything, digital or analog artists, French or not. The workbook is an optional add-on for those who prefer to work with paper and don’t want to print our images themselves. Like every year, the book is designed so that you can either take it apart or create your collages in the book itself. Week numbers and image sources are on the back of each image, so even if your books falls apart at one point, you will always know what’s what!
And last but not least, have a look at our second Instagram account Paris Collage Collective Unlimited where we showcase collages that have absolutely nothing to do with our weekly creative challenge.
