WORDS TO LIVE BY
“If there is no mystery, for the artist, to solve inside of his art, then there's no point in it. . . . for me, every act of art is the act of solving a mystery.”
― Truman Capote

Jarmusch's collages are a visual extension of his storytelling craft. They encapsulate moments of reflection and layers of meaning that unravel with each look, echoing his mastery in juxtaposing the mundane with the extraordinary. Each piece serves as a snapshot of his thoughts, often incorporating fragments of pop culture, snippets from everyday life, and unexpected imagery that convey both nostalgia and a timeless quality. - Jim Jarmusch Makes "some more collages" Jim Jarmusch Makes "some more collages"- via Juxtapoz
Squirewell cuts and collages images and fabrics from his collection before photographing the composition, which then undergoes a digital editing process. An elaborate frame complements each piece with charred shou sugi ban edges—a Japanese burning technique—and hand-carved details. The sides bear various inscriptions connecting past and present, including lines from Langston Hughes’ poems and glyphs from ancestral African languages that have fallen out of use. - In Vivid Reliquaries, Stan Squirewell Layers Anonymous Portraits and Patterned Textiles - via Colossal

Our 2025 Workbook is out and available for sale on our website. Our weekly creative challenge remains free and open to everyone and everything, digital or analog artists, French or not. The workbook is an optional add-on for those who prefer to work with paper and don’t want to print our images themselves. Like every year, the book is designed so that you can either take it apart or create your collages in the book itself. Week numbers and image sources are on the back of each image, so even if your books falls apart at one point, you will always know what’s what!
And last but not least, have a look at our second Instagram account Paris Collage Collective Unlimited where we showcase collages that have absolutely nothing to do with our weekly creative challenge.
