WORDS TO LIVE BY
“Works of art, in my opinion, are the only objects in the material universe to possess internal order, and that is why, though I don't believe that only art matters, I do believe in Art for Art's sake.”
― E. M. Forster

NEWS
To gaze upon the art pieces of Dustin Yellin is to puzzle over societal questions. Paused in time, his epoxy resin and glass sculptures present an entire story in one moment. His colorful painted collages, driven by feeling, ask viewers to ponder veiled complexities. With “If a bird’s nest is nature, what is a house?,” the artist’s first solo exhibition with Almine Rech, all of these ideas converge. - In His Debut Solo Exhibition with Almine Rech, Dustin Yellin Articulates Moments of Cosmic Storytelling - vis Surface
When Justine Kurland began exploring collage, she was motivated by the need to make space, mentally and quite literally on her bookshelf. In cutting up books from the predominantly male canon of fine art photography, she “reauthored” images through a feminist lens. - Social consciousness in multiple media at CPW in Kingston - via Times Union
Poniatowska writes with her subjects more than she writes about them. She transforms quotations from her sources—newspaper articles, diaries, interviews, correspondence, biographies, and perspectives from colleagues, friends, and family—into scenes that bring her readers into the artists’ lives and her own process. The seven chapters achieve this transformation in part because they often read like collages that also create compelling and coherent portraits. Poniatowska’s style underscores intersections, overlapping places and times, and incompleteness. She aims less to have the last word on her subjects than to present their careers and lives to her readers as, even after their deaths, works in progress to be interpreted and reinterpreted, all within the generative constraints of the historical and cultural context Poniatowska constructs. - Elena Poniatowska’s Portraits of Post-Revolutionary Mexican Writers and Artists Prove That She, Too, Is a Truly Exceptional Figure - via World Literature Today

Our 2025 Workbook is out and available for sale on our website. Our weekly creative challenge remains free and open to everyone and everything, digital or analog artists, French or not. The workbook is an optional add-on for those who prefer to work with paper and don’t want to print our images themselves. Like every year, the book is designed so that you can either take it apart or create your collages in the book itself. Week numbers and image sources are on the back of each image, so even if your books falls apart at one point, you will always know what’s what!
And last but not least, have a look at our second Instagram account Paris Collage Collective Unlimited where we showcase collages that have absolutely nothing to do with our weekly creative challenge.
