Hello and welcome to the latest Weekender.
Things here at PCC are slowly winding down a little for the holiday and end of year season. Because many of you asked, we will announce a long-list of finalists for the Rachid Taha Open Call and news about the exhibition before the end of the year. We're also working on the Open Call catalogue AND the 2022 Yearbook, both of which will come out in early 2023. If you have anything exciting coming up in the new year that you want to share with the community - exhibitions, events, an interview in a fancy magazine - please get in touch with at least one link to a relevant website or venue.
And now as always and without further ado, the latest collage news and inspiration.
Enjoy!

Aletti’s appreciation for the cultural artifacts and photographs contained in magazines over time threads through his work. While he’s open to expansive interpretations of his latest book, there’s no denying the presence of Aletti’s insatiably curious lens throughout the publication, which found him playing the role of art director across dozens of visual arrangements. “In a sense, The Drawer is another kind of bulletin board for me,” Aletti says, with juxtaposed images given fresh contexts to come alive all over again on the page. "My latest work explores what might happen if we were to all uproot and move to a new planet," says Beorli of the bright-hued digital collaged images she makes. "From adapting to a new environment to creating a typical suburb, how long would it be before we created double of what we already have, despite having a fresh start?" I’m constantly exploring non-linear time, a way of looking at the world from a different vantage point and coaxing those elements and ideas into interesting stories. My work has become more personal in the past few years, an exploration of my conscious and subconscious mind as it relates to my personal experiences.
